At least it's not a Dash 8 with 10 THOUSAND feet of runway (happy now?). Or an A340 at Turonta....shit happens quick in marginal weather....right?

According to the Ottawa Sun the Captain is 48 and the F/O 31. While this doesn't guarantee experience, (as per Colgan) it wasn't a couple kids flying the aircraft.

I have had experienced very strong tailwind on approach of 07 all to find a headwind on the ground resulting in increasing airspeed and long landing, ottawa weather can be strange at time especially when a front is going by.... Glad it's a minor accident.

Maybe next time educate yourself before calling someone out and shooting your mouth off. The 737 overran after a very late touchdown.

Good time to complain about the airport at our capital city - all that concrete but no c/l lighting and must be the world's last back course approach. Crappy ground lighting too.

Second one is also same airline and aircraft. Note that there are no thrust reserve on these aircraft.

It is an option but this specific aircraft and many others operated by Trans State do not have them.

Runway 25 in CYOW becomes the worst piece of pavement in the country when it gets a skiff of water on it.

I hope and pray that these guys put'er down on speed on the centreline and on the 1000 footer. Then they can submit the repair bill to the airport authority who can take a bit of money out of the waterfall budget to cover the cost. Then maybe this will be a wake up call to get runway 25 up to snuff before anyone gets hurt.

Having landed at that airport many times, and on that runway when wet, I have to fully agree with JJJ. As soon as that runway becomes even a little bit wet, its just like its contaminated with ice...its weird. No idea why it happens.

Yep, I agree, runway 07/25 is a slick one when its wet.

And 10 in YYC and 20 in YEG are both RNP short gates, aren't they?
