Boomerang 203
Anyone know which flight department uses the callsign "Boomerang"? Two Challengers showed up at Vancouver today using Boomerang 203 (N876H) and 204 (N877H). A search of the N numbers didn't come up with anything and there doesn't seem to be a database for radio call signs.

Source Flight Aware, and obviously not track able.

Yeah that's what the FAA registry says too. It just means that the bank owns the jets, but they are leased to the operator. A sizeable number of private jets in the US and Canada are owned by Wells Fargo or Merrill Lynch or ILFC.

Boomerang used to be the call sign for Air 500 based at the North end of Pearson. They had Beech 18's a C-117 and an MU-2 in the 80's. Not sure if they are still around or not.

Nope, long gone. The Mu-2s were bought by Execaire and are/were operated out of YOW.Jaques Strappe wrote:Boomerang used to be the call sign for Air 500 based at the North end of Pearson. They had Beech 18's a C-117 and an MU-2 in the 80's. Not sure if they are still around or not.

Howdy! Just stumbled upon your site as I had the exact same question about call sign Boomerang. We just had BMG5708 depart KMSP after flying in from CYYZ earlier today. It is now flying to KIAD [Dulles]. Just more info for the mystery!

No relation to the HSBC airplanes.
Interesting story with this aircraft, it was bought brand new in 2007 by Colonial Bank of Montgomery Alabama - which is one of the many banks that failed in the US - the Feds took over the bank, closed it down - and sold off the assets, including N605CB their prized Challenger 605.
It was put on the market 'as open to offers' with only 640 hours on the airframe, and was purchased by Image Air Charter of Toronto and based at Pearson. It has a new Canadian Registration C-GSTG and was registered in June 2010.
The BMG flights are a mixed fleet operated by Image Air Charter out of YYZ.
