Atlanta, Georgia (CNN) -- A small plane made an emergency landing on Interstate 85 northeast of downtown Atlanta, Georgia, on Monday, snarling traffic during afternoon rush hour. No injuries were reported.
Aerial images from CNN affiliate WSB showed a small white plane on the left shoulder of the southbound lanes of the highway, surrounded by orange safety cones and rescue workers. Cars snaked slowly by on the right side of the road.
A spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration, Kathleen Bergen, said the plane was licensed to Saratoga Rental Options. The aircraft went down -- on either takeoff or landing, she said -- on I-85 near Shallowford Road north of downtown.
No fire or injuries were reported, according to Tameka Minter, dispatch supervisor with the Dekalb County Police Department
