Kind of looks like an angry young boy....... Just say'nDoc wrote:Okay, I know there's a girl in the pic. Hopefully the mods will not find it offensive. We're having a wee debate on another web site as to WTF this thing is??? It's NOT a DC3, C46 or Convair. Windows are all wrong. I can see only one throttle in the middle? It's obviously a twin. My bet is something Soviet Bloc. Get past the "pilot" and tell me what you think the plane is? Okay?
Looks an awful lot like a DAK, but the windows are all wrong?

Re: Identify This Aircraft
Convair 990, the fastest, and noisiest passenger jet ever made !
Re: Identify This Aircraft
Hard to ignore the similarities between this and my F27!
For that matter, the ATR and Dash 8.
How would you like to haul the pop and chips in this puppy?

Gonna say AN-26B or AN-32 I've seen them taxi around with just the APU running "BIG THRUST APU"

Another shot of the old Bear....
There used to be one of these in CVG. We would sleep in the thing if we had a long delay...

The airliner with the rear-mounted jets is the Caravelle by Sud Aviation.
They used deHavilland's jigs from the Comet to build the nose section, haven't seen one look as sleek until the 787...

I like this machine. A very fast airplane for the time with the unique "area ruling" shapes on the trailing edge.

Don't think it's an An-22...
Looks more like an An-26..I think it says An-26B on the nose too.
