On average, zip codes with 10 decibel higher aircraft noise had a 3.5 per cent higher cardiovascular hospital admission rate.

I'll bet if they studied the 99*** zip code or the 907 area code they'd conclude there was a greater chance of death by hypothermia than say in the 32*** or the 904 area code.

It's interesting that Professor Stansfeld thinks that city planners should keep this in mind when deciding on expanding existing airports or building new ones, but doesn't mention keeping it in mind when building new houses next to existing airports.

Who paid for these "scientific" studies anyway?

I bet if you took into account socioeconomic information the study would wither away and die. Houses near airports tend to be cheaper. People lower down on the economic scale eat less healthy due to cost. You have more heart attacks. I am sure it is all the planes fault. Junk science at its finest. Some dingbat gets it in his head that Ohnoes plane noise is bad and hurting us! Lets prove it. Hogwash! Bah!
