More airfield Closures

Post by Old Dog Flying »

Food for thought but this is not from an official source, but from our aero club.

Wal-Mart has been buying up every ranch they can in BC. They just bought Quilchena Ranch and closed that airstrip. No more going to Quilchena for lunch. The also bought Dog Creek Ranch and closed the Dog Creek airport. They also bought Anahime Lake Ranch and closed all strips on that property.
THANK YOU WALMART

What's your source. I'm game to spread this rumor but I'm curious also why wal-Marx would buy ranches. Tyson foods I can see doing these dastardly deeds.

Anahim Lake does have an airport apart from any private strips on any ranches.

Ever heard about the Wall Mart people? They do not fly...and when they do, they have to pay for two seats. Hence the big camping coaches... :smt040

Excellent stereotype, cause you don't know fat wealthy people

If airlines could manage like Walmart then maybe they wouldn't always be reading CH.11 in the "How to manage an airline" textbook.
The margins are thinner than airlines.

could it be that with Walmarts expansion into food that: being an vertically integrated biz owning ranches to supply there beef would be a good biz move /they also announced 750 layoffs did this strategic move pay for the purchases in the medium term/biz cycle? :?: 8)

I think one of the wal mart heirs was a pilot in vietnam, and died flying a cessna or something like that a few years back.
