King Air Single
Several months ago I read about a King Air Single to compete with the PC-12. I think it would be a great idea. Anyone hear anything further on this? Or a real concept drawing? I feel Flying rendition is just a PC-12 in Beechcraft house colors. I can't see Cessna not wanting to further the idea as it does not compete directly with the Caravan.

Re: King Air Single
Just make it faster and cheaper than the douze and it'll sell.

As for Hawker... I've hear several rumors but nothing concrete.
As for the Flying rendition... Couldn't agree more. You'd expect a little better from them. haha

Re: King Air Single
Considering that the PC12 first flew in 1991 and put in service in 1994, Beech has had ample time to "think" about an appropriate response.
Maybe they just need more time.

Re: King Air Single
Maybe they might wind up like McD was with the MD-11.... one too many engines on an aging airframe design.
Geez did I say that....? Or just think it....?
Re: King Air Single
I think the King Air is the most elegant looking twin turbo prop. Each new model just seemed to get better looking over time.

Re: King Air Single
I find it odd that Beech would compete with Pilatus given that they are selling the Pilatus PC-9 as the Beech Mk. II (Texan II/Harvard II). Why not just market a Beech Kingle from a PC-12 Next Gen?
Re: King Air Single
I would be excited to see a King Air Single. I also think that had it come out at the same time as the PC12, it would have blown them out of the water in sales having the King Air name attached to it.

Re: King Air Single
With the amount of operators still interested in 19 seat airplanes (2 engines) and the limited amount of them on the market I am surprised Pilatus has not developed one based on the PC12.

Re: King Air Single
So basically it's larger than the PC12 and goes 40 KTS faster. Sticker price would be a bit higher, but I bet my boss would have chosen that over our pc12 (which we are very happy with) if it was available at the time. Sounds like a great airplane.
As for the photo, if you look at the details, it's all king air. No Platypus there. Look at the tail cone, wings, winglets, pilot side window, horizontal and vertical stab. That's signature KA. There's only so many ways to make an optimal shape look unique.
