AC/DC - Ain't No Fun Waitin' Around To Be A Millionaire.
Bon utters the fantastic line: "Hello Howard, how you doin', my next door neighbour? Oh yeah... Get your f*****' jumbo jet off my airport"

Also, Neil Young - Let's Roll was written about the events aboard United 93 on 9/11.

(Hey nice one; had never listened to that Susanne R one before. ... Also, the early 1964 Lightfoot version of 'In the early morning rain' from "Peter Paul and Mary" is great .. IMO; there's also Elvis who tried it, and a number of others.)

I believe there may be something here: ... groundspeed was goin higher than ma airspeed ... dah dah .. dum di dah .. with the runway lights still behind the cloud .. ooh ahh .. oh yeah .. ... recorded to rythmic blues ?

Should by now be enough material here at Av Canada on the subject. What instruments does that require ... lets see .. mix it up a bit ... anyone got a Banjo, twelve-string, .. drums ? I'll bet they'd permit you to record it at the brand new International Airport Terminal right here in our good Olde Towne of Niagara-on-the-Lake / at CYSN.

Seriously, when lyric ing up to produce an aviation song, part of it's success will be including everyone ... ie: was prayin the AME had tuned er up good .... was glad the weather volks had their Tims. Then for a second or a third verse ... the airport manager himself was fightin the wheel of the '52 snowplow at every drift (with a little extra of some timely drawling in there) ...

Hard to say how receptive the public would be for yet more AV-entertainment though ...

There's that movie out with the jet engine on the sleigh ... maybe there's a song in there someplace.
Anyway, it's that time of year again ... Merry Christmas everyone !

Considering this is a Canadian forum and all, I'm surprised no one else remembered this one:

But then it's probably just the 80's geek in me coming out again 8)

And there's also a couple classics - "Travellin Man" (Ricky Nelson), and "Come Fly with Me" (Frank Sinatra).

If aerospace can be considered aviation, there's also "Countdown" (Rush), and "Rocket Man" (Elton John)... there's that 80's geek again.

An airplane is not mentioned, but one of my favorites nonetheless...

Sky Pilot - Eric Burdon and The Animals

Many people mistake Treetop Flyer as being Jimmy Buffet's. The song belongs to Stephen Stills.

Learning to Fly by Pink Floyd is near and dear to my heart... I couldn't find out what kind of plane they were using for the voice in's but:
Also an avid pilot, drummer Nick Mason's voice can be heard at around the middle of the song. "Learning to Fly"
It was Nick Mason's flight lesson (reading of checklists) that winds up on the album... and...
The music video was directed by Storm Thorgerson and filmed on West Wind Ridge, a mountain in Kananaskis Country near Canmore, located some 50 to 75 km west of the city of Calgary, Alberta[7] during rehearsals for the band's A Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour. The video combined performances of the band with a Native American, played by Canadian actor Lawrence Bayne, working in a field who then runs and jumps off a cliff to turn into an eagle.

A Canadian connection.
