Please share your stories of what it took to become a Helicopter Pilot in the industry.

As the need for helicopter pilots grows the industry fails to inform young pilots and aspiring pilots of the trials and tribulations that we face here in Canada. The truth of what it takes to become a pilot and what it takes to find the hours necessary can be a mystery.

By others from this community sharing their stories this gives valuable insight into our industry and will give low time/ junior pilots an idea of the things they are to expect and what to avoid and also how to be in the work place.

Is there anyone willing to share their stories of their failure and success to help those pilots coming into the industry?

So what, precisely, are your qualifications?

How many hours total?
Multi-engine?
IFR?
Crew or Single Pilot?
NVG?
Hoisting?

Which operators have you flown for?

Are you Keith’s RW brother?
