It's pretty rare. Most if the time it only lasts a few seconds. That day it lasted a long time. I only filmed the tail end of it. We were in pretty heavy snow showers.....Beefitarian wrote: ↑Wed May 16, 2018 7:27 pm That's a pretty amazing video. How often does that happen?

I have seen it in the Arctic when flying through light snow at very cold temperatures, you can use your finger to trace lines across the windshield.

Happens a fair bit in the tropics - usually when you are flying close to a CB or picking your way through a cluster of cells - the anvil is the area where you'd find it the most.Beefitarian wrote: ↑Wed May 16, 2018 7:27 pm That's a pretty amazing video. How often does that happen?

Occasionally flying light singles VFR I'm going to enjoy the video and stay as far as I can from "the anvil."
