It amazes me how little people in North America know about Russian Aviation and how critical we are of them.

I have spent a large portion of my life studying Soviet/CIS Aviation. And I wish I could tell everyone what an interesting history they have.

It seems all most people know is: An-2, Flanker, Mig, and Antonov Cargo planes. I have found this documentary series which covers almost all the main basis. The translation is great minus a few words which are understandable but not the perfect word.

They are about an hour long each, and I have posted them in order so you can pick and choose what you would like. 18 episodes in all:

I put in brackets the generation so if you only like a certain type and generation of aircraft you can just go and watch.

This also makes for great viewing for all the guys up North with nothing to do between flights. Enjoy!

Back in the early 90s the Discovery Channel had a series on called "Wings of The Red Star" about Russian military aviation...was very good, along with its sister series "Wings of The Luftwaffe"
