Not at all Colonel, but looking at that Super Connie brought back the memory of writing my Canadian ATPL.....The Super Connie was the airplane they used for doing a lot of the questions.......back in the days before multiple choice exams.

The Super Connie was hands down the most sexy four engine piston powered airplane ever built.

Did you ever get to ride in one when TCA had them?

I bet your dad did.

He certainly had a lot of nice toys. The recession slowed him down a little.

He must have flown that Gee Bee he was taxiing around in a little while back. He had flown it in the past before it went into storage. I actually was giving a customer a ride one day who lived in florida and ended up knowing Kermit.

The Breitling Super Connie is based here in Switzerland. Not hard to arrange a flight on the machine. As for a check out, I'd have to ask around.

From his wiki page:
...At 17, with only model airplane flying experience, he began building his own home-built Der Jager D-IX (a biplane powered by a four-cylinder Lycoming O-320 engine).[4] During his final year of high school Weeks spent almost all his spare time building his airplane; he finished it in about four years, and test flew it at age 21.[5]

Weeks later learned to fly. ...
