Looking for YVR Crash Pad

#1 Post by KenoraPilot » Thu Apr 07, 2016 4:32 pm

Awarded YVR June 1 and will be looking for a crash pad or a room to rent in Vancouver anywhere near the skytrain line or Richmond with bus service. Does anyone have a line on crash pads in YVR or could possibly point me in the right direction to start looking? I've done some "googling" however, it hasn't lead to much.

THANKS
KP

I'm in the hiring process for Jazz and just wondering how people commute or if it's not possible for the first 6 months until your travel benefits become active. PM if preferred. Thanks.

I think your jumpseat privileges start your first day on the property.

All AC travel privileges start 6 months from the date of hire (first day of GS). You can use WJ from day one however

As a full-fare passenger? Honest question, how would that work at an AC carrier?

If at first you don't succeed, maybe NDB approaches just aren't for you

It's called "reciprocal jumpseat" flying. As a Jazz pilot you can fly cheaply (less than $100) on Westjet, Porter, Transat and a number of other airlines. It's a standby seat in the back. Not the cockpit jumpseat.

In twenty years time when your kids ask how you got into flying you want to be able to say "work and determination" not "I just kept taking money from your grandparents for type ratings until someone was stupid enough to give me a job"
