New uniforms?

Post by Rowdy »

So I see comments about it, but what is to be expected? Any ideas as to when? Is AC aligning all the express carriers under the new uni's?

Also, the current parka. Its not very professional looking..When did they stop using the goose?

Anyone else have some interesting times dealing with unisync?

The latest word on parkas from the Uniform Committee:

The parka shown on the website is not the new parka, we have agreed to an interim parka as shown. ETA of the new parka is unknown at this time.

That amounts to a WAG as to what and when.

The one I got when I was hired was the constable. Alittle big but it's less bulk than my snow mantra

Any idea when Airline uniforms are going to move away from double breasted suits? Walking around the airport the other day I couldn't help but notice and feel like pilot style is suck in the 80's. A nice two button jacket with cuff stripes would do great. Along with just a well tailored overall uniform. Some of the pilot shirts and pants I see airline pilots wear are umm... well, lets just say I'd spend the $15 to get a shirt brought in. Makes a HUGE difference.

As funny as this is, yes. Looks much more modern. I don't know many young pilots who love the idea of double breasted suits. Sure it's the classic airline look but lets be real.. the new generation of pilots coming up through the ranks would likely prefer a more modern look. Myself included. When I get there one day. Sure it's what you could consider a first world problem, but looking and feeling good in your uniform/suit makes a huge difference in the way you carry and think of yourself on the job.. In any career. It's the same reason I go out of my way to pay to tailor my shirts and pants properly and wear a nice tie that costs more than $10.

FWIW I placed a fairly substantial order on November 22 (or thereabouts). Tunic, pants, topper coat, shirts etc. About $600 worth. It was delivered on Jan 11th.

I've placed 2 substantial orders over the last 2 months and have had delivery in under a week both times. I think it's hit or miss tbh. I haven't had any issues so far.

The line of coke. The other two are pretty common.

Yes, generally pilot uniforms are pretty bad. We for some reason have two styles of jackets. Double-breasted for the skippers and single for the rest.
Both still a bit dated.
Hoping for an update to the uniform at some point.

Some colour coordination would be nice. The black pants don't really match the dark blue jacket and hat, but match the black overcoat, and certainly not my red undies.
