Re: Layoffs
675 until July 1, 2020, no loss of pay or position until then either.
Captains will be assigned right seat duties as required until either more layoffs or a reduction bid is run, wow!
I’m still in shock how quickly we went from a shortage to massive layoffs, I hope we can recover almost as fast.
They are still working on mitigation so, that number could drop, let’s hope.

I guess no captains got laid off? I'm 400 from the bottom and was pleasantly surprised not to get the letter.

Layoffs are in reverse order of system seniority.Ash Ketchum wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 7:21 pm

If you are 400 from the bottom then you are laid off.

Re: Layoffs
I think they are either doing it alphabetically or by time zone, lots of YUL guys already got the letter
Re: Layoffs
675 is roughly 1/2 of all active Jazz pilots. Not a good day but I was expecting it to be worse considering how much flying has been axed.

Re: Layoffs
No CA lost their seat or pay, just will be doing right seat duties. Junior Captain is Nov 2016 which is a few from the bottom of the master list
Re: Layoffs
To be clear... many Captains have definitely been laid off.KenoraPilot wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 2:54 pmNo CA lost their seat or pay, just will be doing right seat duties. Junior Captain is Nov 2016 which is a few from the bottom of the master list
But for those that remain working, a position reduction bid will not be taking place for the time being.

Re: Layoffs
Was that exactly 675 seniority numbers from the bottom of the list? Or did the lay offs extend further because of medical leaves, parental leaves, etc?KenoraPilot wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 4:19 pmMore layoff emails went out today. Re: Layoffs
Not necessarily, they will be on a standby status, on 75% of their wage to the max allowed, it doesn’t look like Jazz will make up the difference, it’s just keeping the ones on layoff from having to go on EI for nowCPT.HarshColdReality wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 4:55 pm you think they wall call back the lay offs then?
