Only one problem... Transport is now taking a dim view of amateur-built aircraft using major portions from previously certified aircraft. You'd have better luck getting it re-certified with a sympathetic mechanic who is willing to check in on you while you restore it, and sign off the work when it's done.

Engine and what's left of the panel are all that could be realistically used. Could be a steal of a deal looking at what Lycomings go for now a days.

Engine is run every two weeks to keep it in top shape

NOOOOOOOOO....!!!! That's bad for an engine! Fog it, and do a proper storage. Video it for any possible viewings of how well it's running. Running it up on the ground just builds up moisture in it, especially on the lycosaurs which are really susceptible to moisture problems (camshaft). Beautiful candidate for an amateur built conversion, then you can tell TC to :smt014 off!!!

Wish I knew about this last fall, would be an excellent project! :(

That hasn't been true for at least 10 years. You would need to disassemble most of the airframe, opening every sealed cavity, before you could get it evaluated, let alone inspected, by MD-RA.
