Importing project from the US

Post by swervin »

I’m looking at bringing in a partially completed project from the US to Ontario. I’ve already talked to the MD RA and they have no issues. My question is, would the project be subject to duty? Or to GST/HST?

Yes. PST/GST/HST as applicable on any new purchase in your province. Keep the receipt, and when the government asks for the taxes on it when you finish it you an send in copies of all the receipts from building with a letter saying the taxes were paid during construction.
