VJ-22 Volmer Sportsman
Hi everyone,
I am the proud owner of a roll of plans for that wonderful aircraft. The design is from the 60's and virtually no instructions come with it. It takes some time and experience to figure it out. I will order some wood and glue soon and would like to know about any other Volmer fan around. We could share and swap tricks and tips while building.
Any thoughts?
For those who'd like to know what it's like, click on the link below. You might like the aircraft!

Flying an aircraft and building a guitar are two things that are easy to do bad and difficult to do right

Well that looks like quite the homebuilt!
Not for the faint hearted or first time builders though. No instructions . Something I couldn't do ... well ... wouldn't have the patience.

Hi Adam,
There is a forum about it, the link is on the web site and there is so much information from all the owners and builders. Also some abandoned projects or already made components for sale here and there. I decided to build all of mine from scratch and to my likings.

Yes indeed, I wish there would be more of those around!
I'll put some pics of mine as I am progressing in the building over the winter.

I've a set of plans for the Sportsman pinned up on my wall in North Van right now - I talked about buying the plane in the picture. it's based on the island, Dave Fletcher I believe.
I 'settled' for a Starduster Too, but would like to build a 4 seat CH801 on amphibs once I finish returning CIBC their money

Hi Really,
Yes, that Dave's Volmer. He did a great job with some interesting mods that enhanced his plane's performance and stability, of which raising the tail by 3 degrees. I am looking forward to go see his plane eventually.
There is a guy in the Delphi Volmer Forum looking for a used set of plans. I can find the contact if you wish.
Cheers
