Name Familiar?

Post by peternut »

Has anyone heard of Bob Diemart?

A guy in our coffee shop, was talking about a Japanese Zero he restored and sold.

I'm just trying to find out who he sold it to.

Thx.

That would be http://www.pacificwrecks.com/restore/canada/blayd.html

Having said that if you follow Skyhunter's advise you won't be disappointed. Why did you ask in Homebuilders?

He runs Carmen North airport in Manitoba. He is a little odd to talk to but has a hanger full of old instruments and aircraft parts. If you live in Manitoba, you can just drive out there and he will probably be there on week ends anyway or his number is in the Flight Sup.

The Blayd Zero was actually rebuilt by someone else entirely (though also in Manitoba) - it's only affiliation with Mr Diemert being that it was one of the aircraft wrecks that he salvaged from the island of Ballale in the late 1960's. The aircraft that he restored is the A6M2 Model 21 now on display at the Pacific Aviation Museum, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. This aircraft was made airworthy in the early 1980s and was operated by the Confederate Air Force (now the Commemorative Air Force) before being grounded about ten years ago and put on static display.
