I saw this one. Black and blue, right? Beauty. But now that you've posted this I'm going to have some competition buying it.

Do you have any first hand knowledge of this particular aircraft? I am seriously in love with it...

Those AEIO-360-B4A's have a 1800hr TBO? Any questions I should be asking the seller that specifically relate to the Pitts? Perhaps things to watch out for? I've heard about the control stick thickness AD and the rear wing attachment AD but that's about it.

IMHO tach time TBO is irrelevant to privately-owned aircraft, especially
aerobatic aircraft. Check for oil consumption, compression, and metal
in the screen. It's a Lycoming. Really nothing special there except the
inverted fuel & oil systems (Christen 801, Bendix)
I'd pull the #2 cylinder, have a good look at the front lifters. If the camshaft and lifters are in good shape chances are the the rest is ok. Any valve or compression related problems can be dealt with by top overhaul at relatively low cost but that bottom end is the very expensive bit.

The fabric should be looked at carefully. Look for nails bumping through the fabric. One or two is kind of normal and they can be tapped back in with a bit of glue to keep them there but if there are too many the leading edges are comming loose. Look for broken rib lacing, it means the wings are flexing fore and aft which means the drag anti drag wires are loose which means you have some cracks in the wedge blocks that hold them in place and that means lower /upper wing rebuild.

Anyway engine and fabric are major areas. They will tell you most that you need to know. Fuse structure is very solid and unliekly to give any trouble unless she has been ground looped and repaired. Look for 337's that show major repairs and make sure the Canadian folks are ok with them.

what do you think of the reported 80/80 compressions

seems like BS to me as there is always some leakage

If the guy actually has been doing acro go along and squeeze the ribs to feel for possible broken ribbs.
