Bose A20 for Aerobatics

Post by avinstructor »

I have had an introduction to aerobatics, and am beginning my aerobatics instructor rating in the spring. I noticed during my initial training that the mic boom on my Bose A20 would move down past my mouth making communications difficult during higher + G maneuvers (loops, hammerheads, etc.) Any suggestions on how I can fix this? A new headset is not an option at this point.

Thanks!

He Ain't Kidding ;)
Not sure about the Bose but I think you can stiffen up the mic boom articuation by wrapping thread around the articulation. Either that or just put a dab of silicone sealer there and remove it later. .. or duct tape ;)

Hi Claudio
I have the Bose A20 and have done over 300 hours in a Grob 115 and 8KCAB. +5 to -2Gs
Never any issues. If your pulling more Gs you can take a little string and tie it either side of the headset and under your chin.

cheers
