Congrats. Quite capable mount and good value. Watch canopy hinges for cracks, if still original.

Thanks!
No cracks on this one but it did have a history of departing canopies in flight due to a design flaw I guess.
Problem has been fixed and I can't wait till I come back to Canada in the Spring to start having some fun, finally.

There is a guy in the Boston area, or perhaps New Jersy that has a white one that he used to compete in. It looked and sounded a lot like a Sukhoi in the air but of course at 1/2 the price. He seemed to do quite well in the plane but of course the spin characteristics of the Russian planes are a bit more demanding so it goes without saying to get proper dual from somebody with Russian monoplane experience.

The white one was flown in competition by Sergei Prologayev, including AWAC 2008.
I remember the John Deere one from some contests down South. Didn't know it ended up in Europe. Nice airplane with a squared tail and shortened gear. Much better looking.
I've flown SP95, basically the same aircraft, but only with two on board and at high DA (Nevada Summer). It could use more wing area in those conditions. Otherwise pretty close to Su-29. Don't remember spins being challenging, but if you haven't flown anything similar, by all means spend some time with a qualified instructor.

Sergei took me up for a ride on that SP. Now that airplane is somewhere in Germany.

The John Deere one went to Europe but came back to it's original owner who brokered the sale to me.
Something happened in Denmark and they could not register it, it flew on the N registration with the intended Danish register OY-FUN and then came back, lucky me, the market is very soft and it sat in WI for a while.

I don't think the gear is shorter than the others but I am pleased someone else chopped that ugly shark fin.
I'll make sure the spades are tight in place, specially after reading the accident report of the one in South Africa, years back.

I know I will have lots of fun when not spraying this summer :D
