You can't buy a new Honda Civic for that!

The next time someone tells me that the reason they
don't fly aerobatics is that they can't afford it, I will
look suspiciously at their shiny new SUV.

You cannot beat this, for bang for the buck. It is not
an MX2 but it will take you to Advanced category
contest flying. You will learn an awful lot along the way.

Choices, people. It's about the choices that you make.

Looks pretty nice. It seems to have the certified T wings (no 1/2 moon cutout at center) and has the proper fuse modification for the under stab bracing. There were a few glitches in the original S1 that are important to have corrected but they are quite well known and likely done on this a/c.

- under stab brace
- stab H tube beef up
- drag anti drag wire wedge blocks
- cabane strut carry through rod
- upper wing cabane attach plates with 90 degree stiffening bends
- and a few others i can't remember...

But Mike is a straight up guy and hell tell you exactly whats what.

Tricky to get from Florida to Canada though.. 120nm at a hop!
Not a trip for a newbie Pitts pilot.

Then there's the time and money I'll need to spend on making sure I don't roll it up into a wee ball. It sure is alluring.

There is definitely training required, basically landings and spins, the rest can be self taught safely at altitude. If your home base has base big wide runways you need less training to start, but for a narrow short strip you need considerably more time.

Ive seen a couple of mistakes people make with theses machines. Ferry them themselves with only a few hours dual and keeping them initially at a small strip, recipe for ground loops!

There is a nice Ultimate S1 with pumped up IO360, MT CS prop, spring gear on Barnstormers for $35K.
Don't know anything about it, but looks like lots of a/c for small money.

A friend of mine is looking for a nice S1C such as this one. Too bad it was sold quickly but I'm not surprised with such a good deal!
