Guelph/Tiger Boys Open House

Post by Lotro »

Anyone know for sure when the Guelph/Tiger Boys Open house is this year?

This weekend (Sep 21) or next (Sep 28)?

Looks to be this Saturday the 21st of September - see http://www.snapguelph.com/?option=com_s ... d[]=577225:

The Tiger Boys Annual Fall Open House
Saturday Sep 21 2013, 7am-5pm
Location:Guelph Airpark
Address:50 Skyway Dr Phone:(519) 824-5779

Come to Guelph Airpark and see one of Guelph's best kept secrets! On the third weekend of September each year, the Tiger Boys hold their weekend long open house where you can come and get up close to restored vintage aircraft, and tour the workshop where these old planes get restored. Watch airplanes take off and land, see numerous WWII Tiger Moth and Fleet Finch Trainers and dozens of other aircraft that fly in for the two day event. Have breakfast or lunch at the Airpark Cafe, or try something from the fundraiser BBQ. All the hangars are open all weekend. Great fun for the whole family, young and old alike. Admission by donation. See pictures of last year's event on our facebook page "Guelph Airpark"

Sat yes, Sun was cloudy but lots of aircraft in the air when we went up. Cars parked almost to hwy 7, nice to see the place full - very different from a couple of years ago when the place looked like a ghost town..... Great food at the cafe as well.
Family kind of worked it out when they realised just where it was I was 'taking them out for Brunch' :D

Just read that the planned air show at Volkel in 2017 is cancelled
So no Dutch Air Force Open Day in 2017

You were planning to go, why not just go to one of the other years?

For those without a time machine in the Guelph region, Tiger Boys have an open house most years.

Third full weekend of September. If the first day of the month falls on a Sunday don’t count that one.
