Foreign License

Post by golecchr »

Is it possible to fly a Polish registred aircraft with a Canadian PPL License? If not, what can i do to legally rent an aircraft there for just a couple days ? Is there any way that Polish authroties could validate my canadian license temporarily?

Any info would be much appreciated!

Not that I know of.
I'd recommend going to a flight school / Flying club and going up with an instructor. You get to fly, he has the valid license.

You should ask the question on http://avpoland.pl . Beware that some guy named Gustaw Hudicourtaw may jump on you and lecture you for pages on end about how unsafe and unfair what you are asking is.

As the previous poster alludes, you really should be asking that question to a forum in Poland where people familiar with EASA and Poland-specific regulations might be found. In the UK it's possible for any ICAO-compliant PPL holder to fly a UK-registered light aircraft in the UK, but that's a deviation from EASA regulation that's permitted specifically by the CAA. It's possible that Poland's national regulator has a similar rule.

However we can all be fairly sure that nobody - in any country in the world, and regardless of what bits of paper you show them - is going to hand over to you the keys to an aircraft without a significant checkout and some assurance that you're not going to break all sorts of local aviation laws through ignorance or incompetence. It's not like renting a car. If you're only there for a couple of days, I'd not expect to make it happen.

Doubly so since I see you passed your PPL last month only.
