Hey folks, as we all saw Link PNG put a job ad up
Other than being in Papua New Guinea and what looks like a great safety record according to wikipedia, anyone know anything about that company? Like schedule and salary and company culture? They cited part 135 does that mean you need an American licence?

Re: Link PNG
The PNG Fokker posting states "Primary responsibility will be operating Fokker aircraft in accordance with the PNG CASA regulations..." I believe most of these locations have their own licensing and regulator.
Beautiful part of the world. I just wonder what a competitive salary is. A certain recruiting agency posts on here once a week looking for wide body crew at "competitive" 1990 wages.

Re: Link PNG
Link PNG is a subsidiary of Air Niugini. Air Niugini's pilots have been in a court case against the company for two or three years now over a contract that was forced on them in contradiction to their previous contract. Supposedly a final verdict will be released soon. Lots of pilots are looking for new work and leaving, both foreigners and nationals - I think I saw 100+ since the contract issue began.
It also sounds like there are currency controls of some variety in place and it takes around a month to get your salary out of the country and into a more stable currency...
There is a lot of information in a thread at PPRuNe about Link PNG and Air Niugini here. Lots of reading material and fairly regular updates on cancellations, resignations, and the court case.
The posters on PPRuNe would probably have far more insight than those here if you are still interested.

Re: Link PNG
No, just an ICAO license. PNG CAR 121 is the regulation for operations with over 20 seats or payload greater than 2500kg. They would probably do a foreign license conversion (PNG medical, pretty simple airlaw and IFR rules tests and lots of paperwork).square wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2018 7:21 pm Hey folks, as we all saw Link PNG put a job ad up
