freeze?

Post by wanpaku »

A buddy of mine said WestJet is currently in a hiring freeze and may let up in October. If that is the case when could someone expect a call to come on in for an interview? Have those calls for the next ground school been made already and if so when will school be on?

I heard that there are eight people waiting for a course and that it may be next spring before they start.
It also may be January or February before they start interviewing again.

Are they going ahead with a 1000 MPIC turbine requirement and technical portion of the interview as planned?

Hmmmmm. Did you hear that they were moving in the direction of doing technical interviews now? I know that they like the 1000 MTPIC but had'nt heard of the interviewing changes.

It has always been a goal to get around 1000 multi pic but not the gospel. In the past the people with less multi PIC were upgraded and found to be poor leaders as Captains. WJ sat back and lined em up, looked into thier past and lack of PIC in a preferred 2 crew or multi environment seemed to be the common tie. The technical exam is going to come this fall. A written answer style with no clear abcd...just your written answer. Just a little test of some general knowledge. about 1/2 hour long. take care FL.

I just heard the same today from a friend at Dubbia. He hears now a technical, mins. to be lowered to 2500hrs, still 1000 MTPIC, and no hiring until the new year. Anyone out there back this up?

The flight time limits to be hired are not being lowered, that is staying at 4000hrs or 5000hrs, whatever it is right now. BUT, you will be able to apply and go in the pool at 2500hrs. I was flying with the guy that calls you for an interview.
