Southwest uncontained engine failure, window broken, passenger partially sucked out of window... wow

A Southwest Airlines flight landed safely in Philadelphia Tuesday after the jet violently depressurized when a piece of the jet's engine flew into and broke a window, a passenger's father told NBC10.

The father, Todd Baur, said that a female passenger was partially sucked out of the plane.

A terrible and terrifying situation for sure.

Great job to the crew for handling such a bad damn day!

Terrible thing to happen for sure, but was the 'witness' even on the airplane?

Given the position of the window in relation to the seat, it's not unfathomable that she could have very well been belted in and still been partially sucked out the window. Remember Speedbird 5390?

I love the photo of the passengers with the oxygen masks on.

The guy on the right doesn’t seem too concerned. He’s still got his earbuds in watching his movie.

ATC: "Is your plane physically on fire?"
Pilot: "No, but some of it is missing."

Tragedy aside, that bit made me chuckle.

Mods, please remove this crap. This passenger died. F*cking idiot ^
I was not aware of the severity of the incident at the time, the article didn't reference injuries.
Did you ever stop to actually think how traumatic it might be for someone to get partially sucked out an airliner window prior to posting?
Yes, I thought it was shotty clickbait news reporting bullshit exaggeration. This is not a common occurrence. 3 in 30years is pretty rare.

Ok, so your insensitive remarks are all the fault of the media. Thanks for clarifying.
