A Southwest Airlines flight landed safely in Philadelphia Tuesday after the jet violently depressurized when a piece of the jet's engine flew into and broke a window, a passenger's father told NBC10.
The father, Todd Baur, said that a female passenger was partially sucked out of the plane.

Terrible. What are the odds of that happening.

(Yet another reason discovered in favour of 'keep your seat belt on'.)

Happened on a DC-10 many years back over New Mexico. Pax was never found.

Terrible thing to happen for sure, but was the 'witness' even on the airplane?

Leading edge appears to be damaged too.

Given the position of the window in relation to the seat, it's not unfathomable that she could have very well been belted in and still been partially sucked out the window. Remember Speedbird 5390?
I love the photo of the passengers with the oxygen masks on.

The guy on the right doesn’t seem too concerned. He’s still got his earbuds in watching his movie.

ATC: "Is your plane physically on fire?"
Pilot: "No, but some of it is missing."
Tragedy aside, that bit made me chuckle.

Yes, I thought it was shotty clickbait news reporting bullshit exaggeration. This is not a common occurrence. 3 in 30years is pretty rare.pelmet wrote: ↑Wed Apr 18, 2018 5:08 amDid you ever stop to actually think how traumatic it might be for someone to get partially sucked out an airliner window prior to posting?Heliian wrote: ↑Tue Apr 17, 2018 3:05 pmI was not aware of the severity of the incident at the time, the article didn't reference injuries.Gear Jerker wrote: ↑Tue Apr 17, 2018 1:25 pm
Mods, please remove this crap. This passenger died. F*cking idiot ^

Ok, so your insensitive remarks are all the fault of the media. Thanks for clarifying.Heliian wrote: ↑Wed Apr 18, 2018 6:34 amYes, I thought it was shotty clickbait news reporting bullshit exaggeration. This is not a common occurrence. 3 in 30years is pretty rare.
