You are correct, you are not suggesting it, you are stating it clearly.
cncpc wrote: Thu Aug 09, 2018 5:26 pm I do understand the RCMP have told people who may have seen the aircraft not to talk to anyone and not to look for it.
That statement alone is a wacky conspiracy, no further info required.

wack·y
ˈwakē
adjective
funny or amusing in a slightly odd or peculiar way.

con·spir·a·cy
kənˈspirəsē
noun
a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful.

The dictionary then quotes your exact statement, word for word as an example.
Whatever.

It does seem pretty unlikely to me. If you look at the flightaware track and the weather for that day, it seems more likely they were circling to get under the overcast. I don't think people on the ground would be able to tell the difference.

The weather posted by cncpc from the traffic cameras in rogers pass shows low cloud right down to the ground, so the most likely scenario seems to be that they pushed on into deteriorating weather, and then got trapped.

If the RCMP did tell people not to say about the plane, it's probably just because they don't want lots of unprepared people going out into the wilderness on wild goose chases.

2 km. from Fidelity Tower, the tower that was pinging it. Up in a tree, tail intact.

Maybe 40 clicks. Very close to a road.

Sorry, you are correct. They didn't land at Revelstoke.

Well families will be able to get closure on this tragedy. Sincere condolences to all involved.

Fantastic work by the BCAS crew who's awareness out there lead to the discovery.

It's a testament to the density of BC bush that the wreckage was not visible maybe a hundred metres from the Trans Canada.

It is interesting to see in the picture that they are down by the highway level. I can't see much of the surrounding terrain but it appears that it was not one of those flights that hits terrain near the peak but was possibly maneuvering down in a valley. Which likely would not have been their original en route plan. Perhaps they were trying to find the Revelstoke airport as a diversion.

It is soo sad to see the plane location soo close to a land-able section of highway! I have landed on many highways including the TCH in poor weather. I was commended for that act by an ex commercial pilot who was the officer who first responded to my landing ! PILOTS, use ALL available tools for your safety !

Is that the Trans-Canada or a secondary highway? There also appears to be a structure of some sort in the photo down and to the right of where the wreckage location is circled.

This is my guess for the location: yes, just off the TCH. I suspect the "structures" are canopy reflections.

It beggars belief.
