I know a little about them, what would you like to know?

I thought the pay was pretty good. Where in Canada can you take home that amount after tax flying a piston? ... and not pay rent or car?

I guess it's all relative.

I use to fly down there for Mystique. Great flying experience and lots of it. I think I logged about 100+ a month. Ewan is a great guy to work with and really knows his stuff. St.Vincent isn't that bad of a place to live, just remeber its a different culture. Its hot, muggy, AC doesn't always work. Just like every job there are pros and cons. The money is great, the people are awesome, and as long as you take up the life style of working hard and relaxing like the rasta, everything be ire.

Phamtom,
I was down there for about 6 months in 2000-2001 for the winter months...not much of a winter when its 30 above everyday. Don't know the person that you are talking about, but I'm not sure how quick people turn over there.
I believe Ewan is the CP down there now, and has been there for years. If you do end up going and have any questions about anything he is the guy to go to.
My knowledge all comes from when i was there, so things may have changed in the last 4 years. Housing was suppied, vehicles were supplied or they found some way of picking you up and dropping you off. The culture is friendly, but the drive crazy and sidewalks do not exsist. The rum is amazingly cheap and amazing. if you surf or body surf there are some really cool little places to do that. There's not much of a beach in St.Vincent, but when I was there i got the odd 3 days in a row off and could hope on to LIAT if the Captain let me and go stay in Barbados for a couple nights...not cheap, but a blast.
I did enjoy my time down there, the crews were great, Johnathan is an easy going Vincientian and his wife Marnie helps to run the show...and a clean show she runs. Nice and structured.
You fly a lot to Barbados (ATC is a pain there), Mystique (Mick Jagger and Tommy Hilfinger have homes there), Canouan, and Union Island. Its pretty much all short strip flying, but they are paved.
As for the aircraft, I never had a problem. They are all pretty high time machines, but they all started, ran, and never quit unless I chopped the mixtures.
Now all being said, i enjoyed the time I had there, but came back for a really good job, something i couldn't say no to.
Mystique Airways isn't for everyone, but neither is the airlines. I enjoyed the time i had there and it was a great adventure. Great people, did I mention Great People!
If you do go and enjoy it, I'll take all the credit for persuading you. if you go and don't enjoy it...remember I did say it wasn't for everyone.

Jonathan and Marnie are good friends of my parents for the past 40+ years. I have never worked or flew down there, but I have heard only good things. Its not a holiday, its work in a great location.

I took a cruise across the Canadian prairies a few years ago looking for work...it's the only way to do it. I highly recommend it to anyone.
