Lynyrd Skynyrd would be ok but there isn't much of the original band left. (plane crash). As for Nickelback?

From the FAQ page of the website:
DIRECTIONS BY PLANE OR HELICOPTER
Looking to fly in to the Festival by plane or helicopter? No problem.
We have a 4000’ runway, lots of ramp parking and Avgas 100LL, Jet A1A and Mogas 91 Octane.
Just check your Flight Supplement Guide for specific information. We will also be issuing NOTAMS so be sure to check before flying in.

I'm more interested in seeing the Arrow replica they just moved up there.
Re: Music Fest at Edenvale Airport
Milan Krupa (owns Edenvale) is a huge supporter of GA in Canada; support him any way you can!
Re: Music Fest at Edenvale Airport
Well, that's done now.

Seriously, weather is always a consideration. What a gigantic load of BS.
They should have just come out and said that they couldn't get the monies or interest together for this "festival".
Good intentions will only get you so far, you have to be prepared to put the money down and go through with it, not cop out at the last minute.
Sad.

If it is anything like the model airplane field I take care of I still cannot drive on it without sinking into the grass.
I drove by Edenvale this weekend and they had the stage and generators all lined up so I doubt it was cancelled because they didn't raise enough cash.

Re: Music Fest at Edenvale Airport
Milan was interviewed on the news just now, and stated that the festival was planned for adjacent property which is not his. So, I guess there's an association, but it sounds like dissatisfied music goers should not be directing their unhappiness toward Milan and the airport, but rather the promoters.
Re: Music Fest at Edenvale Airport
It all falls on the promoters for sure, the airport is one of my favorites in Canada and the people have always been cordial when I've passed through.PilotDAR wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2019 3:27 pm Milan was interviewed on the news just now, and stated that the festival was planned for adjacent property which is not his. Shows rarely get canceled like this so close out, there is more to this story than just "wet" conditions. The big question is how many tickets did they sell and will they get a refund?

Re: Music Fest at Edenvale Airport
I'm also a local, and I laughed when I read the initial announcement, having been to Edenvale many times. They do a good job with "The Gathering Of The Classics", which draws, what, 5000 people?
Expecting to host an event of the magnitude advertised was ridiculous.

Re: Music Fest at Edenvale Airport
I don't know that there is. The ground everywhere is completely waterlogged. They hoped it would dry out in time but it didn't.
Re: Music Fest at Edenvale Airport
If it was too wet, they could have plastered the place in swamp pads and plywood, or just let people get wet and see the shows. It's not rocket science.

Has no one seen the Documentary about the Fyre Festival? This screamed of copycat to that!

When it rains, it pours.

Maybe someone has put away a little "rainy day" money.
