Does Georgian require the psych exam like Jazz does?
If so it should include 1 question.
1. Do you have google and are still willing to apply here?
If you answer yes you’re automatically disqualified and receive a fail due to something clearly being wrong with you.

I don't know many people at GGN, but the ones I do only work there because all the other regionals turned them down.

There's been a number of new hires in the last few years at Jazz who came from GGN. Including people who were captains. That should say everything anyone needs to know about the place.

Time to put an end to this failed strategic initiative. It seems obvious that local management are ill equipped to deal with the evolving labour situation and the realities of unionization when dealing with legitimate unions.

AC entered in to expanded commercial agreements with companies such as GGN in order to avoid potential operational disruptions and avoid cost uncertainty by diversifying the portfolio and distribution of Express contract flying. How is that working out?

If there is an opt-out clause for AC to exit the GGN CPA then AC should trigger it. It would take very little effort on the part of Jazz to cover all of the GGN CRJ flying at known costs and with no risk of labour disruption. Alternatively, GGN should make itself available for sale. A CHR acquisition and merger of GGN CRJ operations in to Jazz would put and end to the representation and bargaining issues for all of the GGN front line staff and give them guaranteed employment without the intimidation tactics alleged in the ALPA complaint.

Based on AC's abrupt cancellation of the 1900 routes, I suspect AC may be involved in this. The original fall schedule showed KROC, KSYR, and KMDT getting 1900 service throughout the fall. Then with less than 2 months notice its all cancelled and the 1900 disappears? Seems odd to me

Good Idea, but then Jazz is stuck with a bunch of less than desirable candidates.... I would tail end them onto thee seniority list, but because they are alpa date of hire will rule.....
Could be a good thing for Jazz though and good growth opportunity.

They can all have an effective hire date of the day they voted in ALPA.

Additionally, maybe more Jazz guys could upgrade to Air Canada...but then AC is stuck with a bunch of less than desirable candidates....

Did you have a crystal ball Rudder ? Lol ! Looks like someone took your suggestion literally ! I can tell you that the GGN pilots are breathing sighs of relief . They have been rescued from the shipwreck . Now let’s see what happens to the flight attendants who are being promised jobs with Mainline and Rouge . Scratching my head on that one because I had to go to AC via a PML and all that promised me was an interview.

Great. Here is the next suggestion....

If the ammended Jazz CPA goes in to effect (meaning the pilots ratified their revised contract) it leaves AC is a very envious position in respect of its Express portfolio.

The only remaining uncertainty is the impact of unionization at Skyregional. That is a near term concern. The medium term concern is the impact of Rouge expansion and the arrival of the A220 on the Skyregional routes given the AC direction to reduce unit costs in routes that may be subject to LCC/ULCC competitors. The long term concern is fleet renewal at Skyregional for an aging fleet of first generation E175’s.

Would not be surprised to see all of these issues bundled up by consolidating Skyregional operations in to the Jazz CPA. Unlike the GGN transaction, this would be a merger. All employee seniority integration matters handled by respective unions (ALPA/CFAU/UNIFOR). Existing Jazz labour agreements apply with possible minor changes to accomodate Skyregional integration.

Jazz has known costs and (possibly) closed labour agreements. Jazz is capable of supporting entire operation in house (Flt Ops/In Flt/MTC/Disptch/Crew Scheduling). CHR is capable of financing fleet renewal of Skyregional fleet if necessary.

It is a given that the Express fleet is shrinking. A consolidation allows AC to potentially manage that further Express fleet contraction within a single commercial agreement.

Why not? They've probably been bleeding staff like crazy during the uncertainty of their future. I also see a lot more ads for maintenance, will that be wrapping up along with the rest or are they going to wrench on other peoples' planes on contract?
