Alaska Airlines Performance Pay
Seattle Times. "About 21,800 employees nationwide at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air will share a total of $120 million in annual performance bonuses in their paychecks Friday, an average payout of approximately $5,500, the company said Thursday as it reported 2018 earnings. Employees in Washington state will get $66 million of that total."

Meanwhile AC offer to buy our vote for 17yrs ~ $1300

(Calin and other AC/Jazz exec’s sitting around having beers)

Calin: “We will offer those dumb jazz pilots wages slightly higher than they make now, but less than pre 2015 wages. Not only that we will offer those wages on a 17 year contract.”

Another exec: “you realize theoretically 16 years from now they will be working for compensation packages less than they would have been earning like 25 years earlier?”

Calin” yup, hahahahahahahahhahahaa”

All the other AC execs: “hahahahhahahahahahahahahahaha”

Or alternatively.

Calin: “I can’t believe they turned down the opportunity to consolidate the flying. Where is Russ Payton’s #?”

Another executive In Flight Ops: “Stupid idiots. Oh well draft a memo to HR - take Encore,WestJet,Sky, Georgian, CMA, PAL, Calm Air, Bearskin, Wasaya, First Air, Canadian North, anyone ahead of Jazz pilots. If they want to turn this opportunity down then f*** them.

There is a cost to socialism . Canada has some of the highest taxes in the World . Carbon taxes , Nav Canada fees, YYZ with some of the highest landing feees in the World, a weak CAD makes A/c and mtce costs higher than the USA.

The solution is to send a CV to Alaska Airlines.

I'd go work in the USA in a heartbeat. Problem is, I can't. Same when people compare their regionals to ours. What's the minimum requirement again to fly equivalent machines? Oh right, 1500 hours and an atpl.

The entire airline community in Canada outside of Jazz is watching this vote guys. How do you think you'll be viewed if it passes? You'll be branded with this for years to come. You know you're allowed to say no right? You're born with a spine. Use it, or you're simply a Darwinian case study

I could care less what other people think.

Bringing the bulk of the AC Express contract under one contract will go a long way to stop the whipsawing that got us here in the first place.

The bulk of that flying will then fall under the contract with the best working conditions in the country, certainly on the regional side. Arguably we have the best contract in the country- pay not withstanding. Ask any Jazz pilot that has gone to AC and they will confirm this.

When the whipsawing stops, that is when the pay will go up. Voting this down will just perpetuate the ability to play one group off against another. Having a ‘spine’ as you say is helping to stop that.

🤦‍♂️

Best contract in the country, pay not withstanding. So your compensation package is the best minus the compensation. Makes sense, heck making money isnt the important part of working.

Well hold on a minute though. Jazz pilots actually make the most when you look at the whole contract.

Prove me wrong.

What's that? GGN pension %1 after 5 years?

I’m not saying they don’t make the most of the other regionals, I don’t know what the other regionals earn. I never once said below industry standard, I’m saying below value. Bottom line the pay is too low and the fact guys are willing to vote yes to lock that in for 17 years is appalling. If this contract is locked in you can guarantee yourself the day will come within the next 17 years where Jazz pilots will be the lowest paid.

Comparing to Georgian, way to shoot for the stars.

Yup. This whole charade, on behalf of all pilots, is laughable. You think anyone cares? Pilots eat their young. We're all a bunch of sell outs, whether we fly for Keystone (RIP), Georgian, Westwind, Encore, Jazz, Sunwing,WJ or AC. All it matters is "me" and "now". Very few have the spinal chord and morality to stand for what's right.

I certainly haven't. After all, I worked for shitty pay at 703s and at Jazz. Now I fly an old f*ck with lots of money, that's slowly going senile. At least he pays me well. Every day I look in the mirror and I hate my (pilot) self. I need to quit this industry.
