Affirmative. Pool pilots are just waiting for a ground school date. They haven’t been hired yet, but they passed the interview, the sim eval, the reference and medical checks.

People are still in the pool from mid-december pool email. Don't expect news before mid-march for May GS if there is one.

well I don't really know anyone around here but I would have appreciated an answer.

Thank you anyways.

I would like to think no one knows...

What about GS schedule? If you could give some info on that that'd be great!

Perhaps you didn't get a reply because...people.don't.know.

Management and HR have their ways at any company and staff are not generally privy to that information, and most management wouldn't go plastering that information all over a random forum. Any information you would get from staff is likely just a guess anyway. It's been said in other threads already in the Jazz forum that they will have probably one a month all year.

An unprecedented number of vacancies on this bid. Expect YVR Q400 for the next many classes to come.

150 vacancies on this bid, I expect they will be running 20pilots per GS until Dec 2019. There might even be the possibility of two GS a month come summer. This again will all be predicated on the hiring AC does over the summer. If AC takes a break over the summer like they tend to, I'd expect only 1 GS a month. OTS hiring will remain high for every GS IMO. YVR Q400 has 70+ vacancies on its FO roster. Jan 2019 Captains means anyone with ATPL basically could hold a Captain position at Jazz in YUL or YYZ.

I expect the 2019-02 (Aug bid) to be a course correction after they see what the AC hiring cycle is like. I also noticed that the bid did not include the 8 new CA positions that were supposed to be added to YYC DH8 in Oct/Nov. So shows that they are really taking a look now at who has an application in at AC and who does not (ie lifers at Jazz like myself). So hopefully with the next few bids things will finally be shaken out and we can see some stability. Thankfully on this bid there were not many people who were "forcibly" reduced and had to move bases (YVR DH8 reduction but it seems everyone was able to move to the Q and RJ and there were still left over spots for new Captains to join the lists)

Sounds like we aren't planning a hiring break over the summer at AC. In fact, a course every 2 weeks of around 40 over the summer has been discussed.

Not so this summer. They're planning 30-40 every three weeks until June, then 40+ every two weeks. Or so they say...

I suspect Jazz won't slow down either.

Looks like Jazz will be running at least a course a month for the rest of the year.
