Hello all,
I am wondering if it is at all worth it to get a flight sim setup before I start flight training? Nothing crazy likely just yoke and throttle set. My wife is a gamer so she already has a nice setup with a gaming chair and systems. I'm not trying to replace any of my upcoming training I just want to know if it will help in any way at all. or if you even think it could have a negative impact.
I'm currently doing my ground school online while I wait to move to school. I will be taking a modular approach to my training if that makes a difference.

No. There is more chance you'll learn bad habits. It might be a bit usefull later on during IFR training.
As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Agree with above. It's not worth it for serious training unless you're practicing IFR later in your training. It can be easy to learn bad habits, like looking too much at your instruments, which can affect your early VFR training.
