I’m sorry to tell you that 98% of your good friends coworkers (and likely him) share this board’s sentiment about protecting our own jobs and livelihoods first and foremost. No one wants anyone to have a bad career but we are not willing to sacrifice our own well being for the Transat pilots.
If the virus goes own and the effects of the downturn are long lasting then the metrics of the merger will no longer make sense and Transat pilots will have the opportunity to remain an independent airline like they were routing for this whole time. Sounds like a win all around.
+1 bro! these trampsat pilots need to stfu. making themselfs look bad. I n every pilot here has worked hard to get here an our hiring board saw us as the best of the best. they just be mad. we ain't giving up easy. never!
"ACboi"....."bro"..... "they be mad"......lol....you must be a drake wannabe...you listen too much of that gangsta rap driving to the airport. The best of the best? Hmmmmmm......i won't even bother commenting. You are ridiculous enough. Before you ask, nah i am not a transat pilot, not an AC pilot and not interested in being one....."stfu"
You guys all realize that ACboi and Habslover are clearly trolls right? Neither likely works for AC or Transat?
ACboi isn’t even trolling the point. No AC pilot is saying we are better because we were hired at AC.
We are saying we will vigorously defend our own careers.
Could say the same for the Air Canada stock? Dropped below 20. Would it be around that right now without the potential Transat deal? Or would it not be less?
Furthermore, the acquisition of Transat A.T. Inc. is subject to regulatory approvals and certain customary conditions, and there are no assurances that the acquisition will be completed as described in Air Canada's 2019 MD&A or at all.

Didn't you hear that in the future there will be only be one pilot and one dog in the flight deck. The pilot's job is to feed the dog and the dog's job is to bite the pilot if he touches any of the controls.

You had me worried for a bit. That quote is from the Caution on Forward Looking Statements and has been for months. Nothing new.
AT could fail before any of this even has the chance to go through. We're still looking at 2 more months before the gvn't gives it's result, and I'm sure it's the last thing on their mind right now.
Now... I could see the gvn't doing something like they did with Canadian and AC, force AC take on AT like they did Canadian and in exchange for a big bail out or something and promises that they can keep all their slots. This would go over well with QC for the next election and people keeping their jobs.
The competition bureau report is actually due out in a week. March 23rd. AC and AT have not been allowed to communicate with each other about this deal until that report is released. Even the AT CEO has said he expects this report to be negative. All of this was reported by the Financial Post but we all know how unreliable journalism is. I expect though that if the above is true the negative report will give AC an excuse to either renegotiate or walk away from the deal entirely.
