How to get an RNAV at an airport

Hey Guys,

Im wondering who you talk to in order to get an RNAV approach / IFR Departure procedures in place at an airport? Who has to come see the airport and assess it etc. It would be in Alberta.

I've never heard of using your own airplane to certify an RNAV procedure. Do you have some more information or documentation as to how that works?

By our own airplane, I mean a King Air, not sure if that matters. And you'll have to talked to the company to get the details on how or why that is possible.

I should of mentioned the airport were looking to add RNAV approaches is CEV7 (Toefield AB).

Couple years ago we looked at getting a new rnav approach into an airport in uncontrolled airspace, but About 25nm from a class d ifr airport, and it was going to be about 30k.

if you want lpv it's $ about 28000, takes about 2 years. from designing of approach to publishing approved approach in the cap 3. That is if there is no from objections from nav can or military as example. Then there is a fee of $4500 per year after the first 4 years to maintain the certification. due to the rather massive building encroaching within the airport. recommended 300 ft of runway setback at tofield you may have delay in approval
