Neuralink: Elon Musk unveils pig with chip in its brain.
Well there it is, the beginning of the end of human existence as we have known it.
Not an end in itself, but perhaps a new beginning...?
Once the biochemical interface between neuronal brain function and machine is sorted out, the potential ramifications are mind boggling.
I was thinking about this the other day after reading pages of posts from years ago on AVCANADA discussing the vagaries and pitfalls of flying the DHC-2 Beaver .
The use of full flaps, landing with a tailwind, etc, discussed by people with a lifetime of knowledge and experience.
What a shame for all of that personal knowledge to simply fade with the memory of the holder.
Now imagine, once this technology advances to the point of being able to transfer information in both directions, we could all be everything we ever wanted to be, without too much effort.
Simply upload archived relevant areas of knowledge from the brains of Cat Driver and Company, and presto! a fine pilot with good judgement and common sense is created.
Add elements of Verdi, Mozart and others, and a truly omniscient pilot is now at the controls.
If I were one of you excellent pilots in the Bush or the Majors, I would start thinking about talking to Elon Musk about a licensing deal.
I for one, would pay good money for that loaded chip...
A bit tongue in cheek today perhaps, but just think where we were a mere 120 years ago...

Interesting that one of Elon's stated goals is to create this technology to assist us in overcoming a robot uprising.
