I wonder how this YGOR CUNHA who posted this video on his YouTube Channel obtained this video.
Seems like he is a student pilot flying in Brasíl. So I don’t think he is a flight school or government official.
I am guessing the pilot in the video gave Ygor the GoPro and told him: “upload this video to YouTube for me, and make me really famous .... or infamous”.
And that’s why the pilot was in such a mad rush to secure the GoPro, before doing the other more important stuff.

Could it be the child of an Asiana Airlines pilot?

You were falsely accused, and vindicated. Let's move on, shall we? This crash has nothing to do with race. It does, however have something to do with piss poor instruction. The second in a row with such.rookiepilot wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 5:12 pm Correct. I'm not the one introducing race into the conversation.

If you are going to land with your feet on the brakes ,make sure you apply them equally so you just need new tires . Left brake bit harder than the right side causing the swerve as indicated by the slip skid indicator and loud chirp from the tire grabbing on the left . Off centreline , missed aim point , was not in control aerodynamically when landing . Transfer of weight from wings to gear was not controlled and just allowed the wind to choose the landing spot .
His seat was also way too low . If you are short sit on a pillow to ensure you can see the runway in the flare . Bigger aircraft have eye height references to maintain forward attitude references in the flare .
Heels on the floor girls and boys ! And get a pillow To sit on if you cannot see over the glare shield on landing .

Something about this video seems fake, but I can't put my finger on it.
I think it's the perspective, and early camera position 'swimming'.
Is it just me?

Looks like a cheap camera with a rolling shutter, mounted insecurely in the cockpit, with some software stabilization added afterwards.Cliff Jumper wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 8:24 pm Something about this video seems fake, but I can't put my finger on it.

This ^ Plus I would add no alieron input to counteract the crosswind from right to left. Yoke stayed perfectly straight right into it came to a stop.2R wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 7:12 pm If you are going to land with your feet on the brakes ,make sure you apply them equally so you just need new tires . Re: VIDEO : Student Pilot Crashes the Cessna on touchdown (Nov 2019)
Since this thread has slowed down, I ran across this fun little story to those who claim racism doesn't exist in Canada.
Maybe it's the principal of your kid's school who is racist. The one...who got caught.
Caught -- videoed by students: Students are Suspended. No correction for principal. Praise from the school board -- a CATHOLIC school board to boot.
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/ ... -1.5745427
So I ever video racist behaviour at my flying club, will I be suspended?
Video it on an airline, will I be banned?
Gee, maybe we're all Trump lovers...and don't admit it.
Remember, I didn't bring race into it. Others do that.
But I'll finish a conversation on it WHEN I'm darn good and ready.
I expect those in the air with me to communicate clearly, in English -- or stay on the ground!
That is a whole lot different than the systemic racism that exists in Canada.
Don't like immigration? Take it up with your MP. Don't scream at people, as recently happened to a friend of mine :
"Go back to your country, N------". My friend was born here.....
Mods, delete this if you must. But give it 24 hours, first. Important.

Air Canada gives preferential points to minorities in the hiring process based on skin colour only. Tell us about racism again. Oh yeah, I know, someone arrives the previous year in this country which generously lets them in, and because they have been discrimminated by us, they get preferential hiring.rookiepilot wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 2:53 pm Since this thread has slowed down, I ran across this fun little story to those who claim racism doesn't exist in Canada.

Tell us about racism again. Same with universities and more and more stuff.
So someone screamed at your friend now equals guilt by association(ie. a fellow citizen).
Re: VIDEO : Student Pilot Crashes the Cessna on touchdown (Nov 2019)
Technically all crashes are on touchdown.

These guys might argue that, technically:

....And I don't agree with any of that, and have said so. Preferential treatment is wrong, and so is the media denigrating of white males. Watch TV ads. They are all the same. It's a joke. Our PM is a joke. "Toxic white masculinity".Dh8Classic wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 10:25 pm

University's in particular are appalling. And I get the anger when the signs say "white men need not apply".
My point is my friend and others like him didn't cause this. He's a good guy. He's actually called out (reverse) racism from his own race!
A school principal shouldn't be taking his anger and retaliate against a group of young black kid when he's caught, and the school board defends this. No way they would have been suspended if white.
It creates divisions. We are Canadians, and we are better than this.
We don't want to end up where America is headed. It's getting very ugly there.
Re: VIDEO : Student Pilot Crashes the Cessna on touchdown (Nov 2019)
I am not a big fan of only teaching flapless approaches to pre-solo students , to solo them earlier than students who are shown how to use flaps . Flaps can be fun . Lift flaps , drag flaps when to use flaps . When can I use flaps for lift and when can I use flaps for drag ? Drag and lift demonstrations are FUN to do and knowing how to use the flaps is one more tool to have in the toolbox.
Maybe we should teach BUMFFS checks instead of GUMPS ?

It's just a word. Stop making a whole cult around it. Either it's use is socially acceptable, or it isn't. Such a weird stance that one group can use it to refer to themselves, but the other groups can't. Really weird.
As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1

Re: VIDEO : Student Pilot Crashes the Cessna on touchdown (Nov 2019)
It takes a true member of the white patriarchy to criticize what words a minority group uses to describe themselves and how they should or shouldn’t feel when outsiders use the same words. Well done!
DId you hear the one about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.
Re: VIDEO : Student Pilot Crashes the Cessna on touchdown (Nov 2019)
Right.
Here is a wild idea: if you don't want people to use a word because it is disrespectful or brings back terrible memories, how about you either stop using the word, or give it a new meaning and have everyone use it.
Now you are doing exactly what you are trying to prevent: create a distinction between "them" and "us".
"We" can use the word, "they" can not.
How does that help anyone?

I don't entirely disagree with the concept of teaching self respect.digits_ wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 9:26 amRight.

And the white principal could have handled it so much better in teaching this concept than by using the word himself.
This was in the hallway. Was he asked to talk with them? Would he chew out a group of white kids for saying homies?
Then, because he was Embarrassed -- nothing else-- by being caught on video doing it...he suspends every student in the Vicinity. That's the problem.
You think a group of white kids from Torontos Forest Hill, videoing a few such words from the teacher would be suspended? No Chance.
Different rules apply to different people. This is why the US is having the problems it's having! And we don't want to go there. We really don't.
What does this all teach a group of young black kids? White People have the power, and don't ever question that.
He should know better as a mature adult. Maybe they don't, as kids. yet.
And everyone criticizes BLM protests. Gee.......

Here’s an even wilder idea: white people should stop giving language advice to minority groups.
This is not about white people “helping”. In fact it’s not about white people at all. If you imagine for an instant your opinion about what language minority groups use is relevant or helpful, you’re the problem. Now you are doing exactly what you are trying to prevent: create a distinction between "them" and "us".

Re: VIDEO : Student Pilot Crashes the Cessna on touchdown (Nov 2019)
If a group refers to themselves by a particular name, it is often considered a sign of respect to refer to them with the same terminology. You identify as XXX, I'll call you XXX, you prefer YYY, I'll call you YYY.
In this particular situation, you prefer ZZZ but if I dare to call you that, or even question why you *don"t* want me to call you ZZZ, all of a sudden I'm the problem. How? Why? What problem?
Who said anything about white people? You're the one focussing on white people in this. If you prefer, you can make the same argument for different skin colors and the use of the word "n*gger".photofly wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 9:40 amThis is not about white people “helping”. In an ideal world where there is no racism, everybody will be treated the same, regardless of skin color or sex.
Let me rephrase: how does splitting up the population into a group of people that can call black people "n*ggers", and a group that can't, help to abolish racism. What does this solve? How does this lead to any solution for the racial issues we are having? I honestly don't see it.
Since you brought up white people, let's reverse it, invent a word that only white people can use to refer to themselves. If black people use it, we are all offended and it ends up in newspapers. Would this be beneficial to abolishing racism? Or could this lead to ugly situations.
Reservering a word for a particular population group is wrong. Doesn't matter if majority or minority groups do it.
