Charterfrom Calgary to Prince upert
A friend asked me o find about renting a charter as follows:
Jun-26 fly from Calgary to Prince Ruprt leaving at 9:30am arriving at Prince Rupert by 12 noon
Jun-29 leave Prince Rupert around 1pm back to Calgary
Would be 10 people and fish on the way back Going finishing
Anybody know of any charter companies out that way so I can give him some names
Thanks

10 people with fishing gear is a Beech 1900 load. North Cariboo, CMA, and Sunwest are your Calgary based choices that I know of. That's a pretty decent stage length, I've done it to Massett, not Rupert. The issue with that is if the weather is down your alternates are a long way away. Odds are your're looking at a fuel stop if the weather is IFR.

With 10 people and gear, that is about 2/3rds load for a 1900, so full fuel should be doable and direct on all but the worst of wx days. For example YYC - YPR - with YZT as a solid alternate is 878nm, at the edge but within the 1900s range. Though if Sandspit holds as an alternate your golden. You might be able to squeeze into a 200, but likely without all the fuel you want and then a stop would for sure be required and way less comfortable. Then on the way home if you do well fishing you may be strait up out of luck.
As list above all the 1900 operates out of YYC are descent. Though for my money I would go with Sunwest, or North Caribou.
