What's happening with Aviation medicals lately?

I completed my medical (first time, not a renewal) on September 26 last year. For poked and proceed e by the doctor who sent off all three paperwork but do far nothing. I figured there would be some delays due to covid, but it's now been 7 months and I have not seen any follow-up from my medical.

Anyone got any intel on what's happening at Transport Canada Ontario region? Are they really that far behind, or did I miss a step?

I got my medical from Nov 2019 processed two days ago finally. They are extremely behind

Did you need to submit anything extra, or just wait? I heard the process was the doctor sends in the paperwork, and you just wait to get a bill on the mail from TC. Is that your experience?

Just logged into check my file. My medical from Oct 2019 is still not processed.

Nope. Had the stamp in my book so I just kept working like normal until I heard otherwise. Eventually just got the invoice for the processing fee in my email. If you're curious, you can check your TC file online. It has all your exam/flight test results on it, last ECG/Audiogram date, and you can check what address TC has for you. Super convenient, tbh.
