West Coast Fishing
We are headed out from Calgary to Eagle Nook Lodge, south of Tofino for some fishing with clients. We will stop in Vernon for fuel, and have lunch at the Sparkling Hill Resort in Vernon. I'm looking for some ideas to 'over-night' on the coast somewhere. Maybe a helicopter friendly hotel, or just an interesting place to stay for some scenery, good food and a couple beers. We don't check in to Eagle's Nook until noon the following day. Gibsons, Seashelt, Nanaimo, Port Alberni, Qualicum Beach are all on the flight path. With the hot weather, we have plenty of time that day. I've always wanted to take in the Pitt Hot springs as well, although I was told that landing on the bridge isn't good right now. I've watched many videos of the locals getting great shots with their helicopters here. If you have any great ideas to keep my troops entertained, I'm listening! Thanks a lot guys!

Re: West Coast Fishing
Thanks for the feedback. I didn't see these replies until now! We left on Wednesday (30th) and returned yesterday. A pretty decent trip. We left home, direct Vernon, fuelling up and stopping in at the Sparkling Hills Resort for lunch. Another fuel stop in Boundary Bay after flying through Hope, Chilliwack, and Langley. We stayed over night in Nanaimo, taking in a great meal at the Crow & Gate. We didn't get up to the hot springs, which according to 89rs, wouldn't have been good anyways. Thursday morning, we did the 30 minute flight to the lodge. Great weather all the way there and most of the way back. Fishing was great as well.We caught our limits. A few storms to dodge on the east side of the rocks to get home, but all in all, a great trip.
