Aerocet 5850

Post by ruddersup? »

Does anyone have any experience with the Aerocet 5850 floats on a piston Beaver?
Would appreciate any comments you might have in comparing them to the Edo 4930's.

My math says they’re 920 better. Don’t have any actual experience to back that up!

Look good, are nice to walk around on and the hatches are great. Performance not so good, don’t handle crosswinds as well as 4930s either. In big water you can feel them flexing and moving, undecided how I feel about it. 4930s are the better choice in my opinion.

Thanks BeaverDreamer, just the kind of response I was looking for.
However my biggest concern is salt water operation and if the Aerocets can hold together in those rollers then advantage Aerocet with superior corrosion resistance.

We are not near the coast but very happy with ours. Handles heavy loads very well. Have 2200's, 3500's and had 3400 amphib Aerocets. All great floats.
