RAIC question
I had contact with the police in December 2017/January 2018 for mental health checks and at another point in 2018 when I had a physical health problem and they were on scene. Will this affect my ability to get a RAIC in the future? I have never been arrested and have no criminal charges. Want to know before I sink too much money into it.

Re: RAIC question
It all depends on how they want to score you that day and a whole bunch of other factors.Lacey_132 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 1:11 pm I had contact with the police in December 2017/January 2018 for mental health checks and at another point in 2018 when I had a physical health problem and they were on scene. What does: "before i sink too much money into it" mean? Your employer should be covering any costs associated with it.

This person may just be starting flight training and is looking ahead a few years.

You're funny. Try having some documents certified translated from other countries.Heliian wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 9:11 amIt all depends on how they want to score you that day and a whole bunch of other factors.Lacey_132 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 1:11 pm I had contact with the police in December 2017/January 2018 for mental health checks and at another point in 2018 when I had a physical health problem and they were on scene. Re: RAIC question
A wellness check shouldn't affect you, but if you were fingerprinted at the time then that may raise a flag during your background check.
Re: RAIC question
Stop saying this … you’re giving people false information. Anytime you have police contact a record is generated, also called a local indice. When applying for a RAIC they’ll do a LERC search and this info will show up. What they do with that information is anyone’s guess.
Re: RAIC question
Does that also apply when they pull you over for speeding or a broken tail light?Localizer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 4:05 amStop saying this … you’re giving people false information. I wouldn't sweat it.
These aren't criminal things or associations.
Move on with your life. You'll be fine.

Re: RAIC question
Depends on the circumstances, did they issue a warning about the tail light? Then yes .. but whatever .. this topic has been discussed countless times ..digits_ wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 7:12 amDoes that also apply when they pull you over for speeding or a broken tail light?Localizer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 4:05 amStop saying this … you’re giving people false information. Re: RAIC question
You could go get a job with ATS on airside while doing your flight training, they are desperate for ground handlers, you get a first hand view of airside operations, and you need a RAIC to do the job so you'll find out long before you spend too much money learning to fly if you qualify for one.
Re: RAIC question
That's certainly a novel way of approaching thingsco-joe wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 8:16 am You could go get a job with ATS on airside while doing your flight training, they are desperate for ground handlers, you get a first hand view of airside operations, and you need a RAIC to do the job so you'll find out long before you spend too much money learning to fly if you qualify for one.

Would it work though? Ground handlers typically get a RAIC for one airport only, while aircrew get the red canada wide one. Are there different security checks for both?

They’re the same background check, no separate checks when it comes to the RAIC background check, you’re limited to which areas of the airports you can access.digits_ wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 8:22 amThat's certainly a novel way of approaching thingsco-joe wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 8:16 am You could go get a job with ATS on airside while doing your flight training, they are desperate for ground handlers, you get a first hand view of airside operations, and you need a RAIC to do the job so you'll find out long before you spend too much money learning to fly if you qualify for one.![]()
