They’d be further ahead to through it back to Lockheed and ask them to make a flying boat out of a C-130.
Or build a modernized and amphibious Martin Mars.

Years ago, while at Wipaire in S. St Paul, Minnesota, I saw a set of engineering drawings for a C-130 on amphibious floats. Not sure how far it progressed from there.
