Petition for YYZ Raic Office
Everyone should be signing this petition, from those currently employed as pilots, to those that want to be working as pilots one day. This process at YYZ is a disaster and is in need of change. Please be apart of that change. Thank you.

Welcome to the issue faced by everyone in every sector in every field. Won’t be a quick fix but the suggestions of electronic forms and getting appointments are good and should be the way to go in bringing things into the 21st century. They really only need to see you in person to verify details and identity. Why not make you do most of the work at home? Signed!

That place is a disaster. One of my co workers got there recently at 5am to beat the lineups and there were already about 50 there. Apparently people start to show up at 3am and the place doesn’t open till 8.

How is the pass services in other countries if anyone has experience? This is embarrassing for the worlds most expensive airport. Third world country rating.
Re: Petition for YYZ Raic Office
YVR RAIC process all managed by appointment and on line electronic submissions. Have never spent more than 5 minutes waiting.
Works perfectly.
YYZ RAIC process = train wreck.

Re: Petition for YYZ Raic Office
Part of the problem is the rules got changed. 1 day over 6 months with no recorded security use renders the RAIC and AVOP inactive. Driving now requires training, test, and driven test. Wait times are disgusting, and forcing people to line up for hours. This third world airport doesn't have extended hours to clear the backlog. Reminds me of years ago, when EVERYONE'S RAIC had to be renewed. Lineups were hours long outside, they brought in buses for people to wait in crappy weather.

That cannot be correct, please tell me that is not correct. Our flight department carries them only for identification and in case we get checked on the ramp so they are NEVER scanned.drone_driver24 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 7:09 pm Part of the problem is the rules got changed. 1 day over 6 months with no recorded security use renders the RAIC and AVOP inactive.

Re: Petition for YYZ Raic Office
When I first got recalled in July, everyone told me, go to security, drive thru, and go to secondary. I was away for about 5 months, and it worked out. I'm not sure about the red national pass.CL-Skadoo! wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 6:50 amThat cannot be correct, please tell me that is not correct. At Sunwing, we have pilots deploy to Europe from early April to the end of October/early November, which is definitely over 6 months. I've never heard of any of them coming back to Canada and their RAIC "timing out."CL-Skadoo! wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 6:50 am That cannot be correct, please tell me that is not correct. Re: Petition for YYZ Raic Office
It could be company specific. When we first got permission to fly scheds from T3 they would only give our pilots 1 year RAICs. Their way of letting us know we were on probation with them. After that year was up they went to 5 year RAICs as is the national standard.DHC-1 Jockey wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 12:02 pmAt Sunwing, we have pilots deploy to Europe from early April to the end of October/early November, which is definitely over 6 months. Re: Petition for YYZ Raic Office
I understand that, but if co-joe has a normal 5-year RAIC, I don’t think it’ll “time out” after 6 months of inactivity.co-joe wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 11:23 pm It could be company specific. Lots of pilots go on long-term medical or LOA’s and they would be better able to answer if their RAIC still works when they come back to work.
