Mandatory Vaccines Coming to Canada
Mandatory Vaccines Coming to Canada
You heard here first........not legislated yet, but it appears to be on its way. Unless Omicron is the last gasp of Covid, I would say.
Provinces could make vaccination mandatory, says federal health minister

"From Feb. 1, vaccination will be mandatory in Austria.
In Greece, people over age 60 will be fined 100 euros ($144) a month if they don’t get a shot by Jan. 15.
In Italy, vaccines are compulsory for people older than 50.
German MPs are expected to soon vote on making vaccination mandatory.
In Canada, more stringent vaccine requirements are already being introduced in some places.
This week, Quebec announced it is expanding its mandatory vaccination passport system so people in the province will eventually need three doses of a vaccine to get certain services.
The province also announced that it was extending its passport system to people who wanted to enter liquor and pot stores."

Re: Mandatory Vaccines Coming to Canada
That’ll really make them want to get the vaccines! (which don’t work). Most of the cases now are among the double or triple or soon to be quadruple super vaccinated. So how is this going to change anything? Are they going to go around with tranquilizer guns full of Pfizer and shoot the unvaccinated now like a big game safari?

This omnicron is no worse than a cold for someone who is vaccinated and healthy. I am writing from experience.

A spokesperson for Quebec's health minister said Friday, however, that mandatory vaccination is not something the province is looking at yet.
...
In a social media post, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney said his government will not make vaccines mandatory.
...
Robert Strang, chief medical officer for Nova Scotia, told CBC Radio's The House in an interview airing Saturday that his province isn't considering mandatory vaccination..."To me, it's a big step further to say you have to be vaccinated. First of all, how would we ever enforce that? You know, there's all sorts of legal and human rights issues,"
...
Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe issued a statement saying that while he strongly encourages people to get vaccinated, his province will not be implementing a mandatory vaccine policy.
I feel like I'm missing something here, half of covid patients in the ICU are unvaxxed. Does that mean the other half are fully or partially vaxxed?Dubé said half of the people with COVID-19 being admitted to ICUs in the province are unvaccinated
Re: Mandatory Vaccines Coming to Canada
Yes. It would mean that 50% of the ICU cases come from the 10% of the population that isn't vaccinated; the other half come from the 90% of the population that is vaccinated. That being so, you can work out for yourself what getting vaccinated does for your chances of staying out of ICU.Vaticinator wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 6:15 pm https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/duclos ... -1.6307398

Yes. That's a pretty remarkable jump in percentage from the 8-10% it was just at recently.

Looks like you may not be able to say that for future variants as you WILL be vaccinated by then.

Quote your source for your rather convenient numbers.
Here's a non made up number and source - "77.1% of Canadians fully vaxxed"

Re: Mandatory Vaccines Coming to Canada
I think you (or V) were asking about Quebec and not Canada in general, so I don’t think your figure is the exact one, but it sounds about right, and then of course there are a many more people that are partially vaccinated. So once again not being able to comment on the accuracy of the 50/50 split but merely explaining what it means if it is true. it’s going to be in the 80 or 90% range of the population from whom half the ICU cases are drawn, and 50% from the rest.
If you care to look up the exact figures for Quebec for both fully vaccinated and partially vaccinated, we can be a bit more accurate. But in terms of V not being sure if he “understood” what the Quebec guy was trying to say I hope I helped a bit.
