14 to 10 day quarantine question

Post by RA500 »

Here is one that no one can seem to answer;

Assuming passengers tested positive on Jan 5th in another country, can they fly back to Canada on Jan 15th? The day the quarantine restrictions go from 14 days to 10?

Health Canada doesn't have an answer. Customs can't provide one either.

The way the restriction is written "You must provide proof of a COVID-19 negative molecular test result to enter Canada OR proof of a previous positive test result taken between 14 and 180 days ago (starting January 15, 2022, between 10 and 180 days ago).", one would think that the passengers can return on the 15th with their positive test taken on the 5th.

What do you think?

Are we talking 604 or 704? No time required for 604 - assuming Canadian citizens of course - if you can make it to the border you can’t be denied entry but a quarantine/isolation plan will be required (and I guess it’s even possible CBSA could levy a fine) and likely include the crew who are now close contacts. I would assume based on the dates you gave you’d be safe to return them on the 15th under 604 and 704, but who know, CBSA a lot of the time seems to be as confused by the rules as we are
