First Air...what the F?
ok, ad for jobs does not make sense. a whole bunch just laid off from First Air out of YOW with the ink on the pink slip still wet...guys that have been there for 20 years as FE are laid off.
i have a hunch why it would be posted and it's not pretty.anyone else have an idea as to why you would lay off then job ad right away?..Hope you all figure out that job post was all a mistake. i hope....

I think the S/O at First Air should not worry. They might have the layoffs for the back seat but, I believe that they will be able to get on the AT42 or Hawker real soon. Some movement ahead. At least one spot will open up in YZF for the FO ATR and might be 2. So I dont think if they get laid off it will be for long.
Cheers and hang on,

Eventually there will be lay-offs on the 727 due to the fact they are going to be replaced so that means there is not position for the F/E's. It's very unfortunate that they will not be able to comtinue their career but it's the econmics of the times.......the disappearing of 3 crew aircraft. Hopefully they can go back to there previous postition of maintenance engineers. The S/O's however, like ArcticFlyer said, will likely be getting either HS-748 positions or ATR-42 positions.
I just can't see First Air laying off pilots and then going out and get contract guys to fill in. It just doesn't make sense and I can't see them doing that.
